Dolores H. Pollitz

December 22, 1929 — March 2, 2023

Visitation for Dolores H. Pollitz (nee Binzel), 93, will be held Friday, March 10, 2023, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. The Visitation will continue Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 720 Dundee Avenue, Barrington. An Interment will follow at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines.

 Dolores passed peacefully Thursday, March 2, 2023.  She was born December 22, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Otto and Hedwig (nee Roeger) Binzel.  On November 12, 1949, she married Donald M. Pollitz, who preceded her in death on August 30, 2000.

Loving mother of Donna (Lauris) Freidenfelds, James (Wendy) Pollitz, Kenneth (Linda Rae) Pollitz and Carole Pollitz;  grandmother of Andrew (Rebecca) Freidenfelds, Lisa and Karl Freidenfelds, Brendan (Victoria Petela) Pollitz, Jessica (Aaron Stainthorp) Pollitz, Stephanie (Matthew) Kuebbeler, Timothy (Meredith) Pollitz, Eric (Emily) Pollitz, Joel (Kyesha) Pollitz, Joseph (Emily Whalen) Duschinsky, and Donald Duschinsky; and great-grandmother of seventeen; sister of Elaine (Donald) Weber, and sister-in-law of Priscilla Binzel.

She is preceded in death by two brothers: Alexander and Theodore Binzel.

Charter member of Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Elk Grove Village, member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Dolores was a very active and faithful servant in both congregations; school secretary at Rupley Elementary, and volunteered at Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington, and Bethesda, Crystal Lake.  Homemaker-of-the-year, Dolores was an avid skier and member of the 400 Ski Club, loved playing piano, bridge, ping-pong, tennis, and the church handbells, and loved watching and supporting her family in all their activities.  Her greatest joy was in serving others and living out her faith in daily life.
