Daniel C. Rodgers

August 7, 1951 — November 17, 2023

Lake Barrington

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Daniel C. Rodgers, 72, of Lake Barrington, formerly of Palatine. Dan was the devoted husband of Ellen Rodgers (nee Radik) and loving father of Abby Rodgers (Brian Montana). He was the cherished brother of Charlene (Lenny) Rubino and Tim (Marcy) Rodgers. He was an adored uncle to his nieces, nephews, and their children. Dan was a warm friend and support to everyone who knew him.

Dan was born in Pittsburgh and was a lifelong Steelers fan. He graduated from John Carroll University and later received a master’s degree from Roosevelt University. He settled in Chicago for work at Children’s Memorial Hospital, where he met Ellen. They built a wonderful and happy life together with their daughter, Abby. After a successful career in social services, he moved on to information technology, eventually retiring as a CIO. He served on several non-profit boards of directors including Lumity, HandsOn Suburban Chicago, and the Palatine Senior Center. He was also involved with the Palatine Public Library as a member of the Board of Trustees and later on the Library’s Foundation. Dan enjoyed travel, food, and a friendly debate over a good glass of wine.

Dan’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 2nd from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. You are welcome to wear a bow tie in Dan’s honor.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
