Cornelius J. Mcmanus

Funeral Services and Interment for Cornelius “Neil” John McManus, 77, of Palatine, Illinois, will be private.

Neil; a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully comforted by his wife on March 17, 2020.

He was born September 28, 1942 in Ithaca, NY to Peter and Elizabeth (Daley).

Neil was an active member of the Knights of Columbus at Holy Family Parish, a classic cars enthusiast and member of the Early Ford V-8 Club of America, a committed volunteer with his children’s activities, and an avid fan of his grandchildren’s sports and performances.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sarah (McManus) Mack.

Neil is survived by his cherished wife of 53 years, Julia (nee Larson) and his treasured children Neil (Sydney) McManus, Peter (Therese) McManus, Stephen (Deborah) McManus, and Mary (Michael) Hutchinson. He is also survived by adoring grandchildren Kathleen, James, Mary, Erin, Quinn, Patrick, Matthew, Sean, Owen and Elizabeth. Neil also leaves his brother, Peter (Joanne) McManus, brother-in-law Michael Mack, as well as many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
