Christopher S. Schnackel

April 22, 1967 — March 1, 2023

A Memorial Visitation for Christopher S. Schnackel, 55, of Carpentersville since 1997, will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine, Illinois.

Christopher was born April 22, 1967 in Evanston, and passed away March 1, 2023 in Maywood.

Christopher was the beloved husband of Victoria A. Schnackel (nee Laseke); loving father of Matthew T. Schnackel and Thomas H. Schnackel; dear son of Patricia (nee Tesnow) Schnackel and the late Charles Schnackel; fond brother of Constance (late Gary) Phelps, Cynthia (Richard) Neumann, Cheryl (Mark) Siwietz and Charles (Pamela) Schnackel.

Chris was the proud owner of Palatine Heating & Cooling, taking over after his dad’s death in 2011. Many thanks to Connie, Steve, Chuck, and Pat for all of their extra help in keeping the business going. This also includes Nick, for lending out his employee when Chris couldn’t do the heavier work anymore. He truly appreciated all of you!

When he wasn’t working, he served as President of the Lakewood Estates HOA for many years, as well as a board member at Walcamp Outdoor Ministries. He also enjoyed watching football as well as participating in fantasy football. Spending time with family and friends around a large fire at camp was truly his happy place. As much as he enjoyed going to Disney with his family, camping was a love that he didn’t know he had until his first experience at Walcamp many years ago. It then evolved into a seasonal site where he’d camp every weekend possible! Ann and John were his favorite fishing partners, as well as great friends.

Chris was a caring, devoted, and loving husband and father to Vicky, Matt, and Tommy. He was so proud of the house he built for his family and cherished the memories spent there. We will always miss him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Walcamp at 32653 Five Points Rd., Kingston, IL 60145. Donations can also be made online at https://walcamp.org/chris
