Carl R. Rathfelder

A Funeral Mass for Carl R. Rathfelder, will be said at 10:30 am on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Rd. Lake Zurich, IL 60047. The family will receive family and friends at the church prior to the service at 9:30 am. A private family burial will be held at the cemetery following the funeral.

Carl Richard Rathfelder passed away on October 30, 2025, at his residence in Lake Zurich, Illinois leaving behind a legacy of faith, humor and kindness. Born in Woodstock, Illinois, on October 14, 1946, Carl’s life spanned 79 years of dedicating himself to providing for his family and living faithfully through his church and community.

He was a proud member of Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Zurich. During his time there, he served on the Knights of Columbus and sang in the choir.

Carl is survived by his wife of 52 years, Teresa Ann Rathfelder; children, Carrie Gengler and Lauren Hammers (Rob); 4 grandchildren, Madeline Hammers, Autumn Gengler, Ethan Gengler and Mia Hammers; sister, Bonnie Rathfelder as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
