A Graveside Service for Betty Jo Garvin (nee Wilson), 89, of Batavia, formerly of Lake Zurich, will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Randhill Park Cemetery, 1700 W. Rand Rd., Arlington Heights.

Betty Jo passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born in Station Camp, KY on February 27, 1933 to parents Lewis and Ruth (nee Mays) Wilson.

She worked at Jewel Tea Company for many years until she retired. Betty Jo was married to James Garvin for 44 years and lived in Lake Zurich close to her parents. She and Jim attended Village Church of Barrington and were members of Gideon International.  She loved to cook, knit, cross-stitch, read, travel and square dance. The ladies at her knitting group said she was master knitter. She also enjoyed her Bible study groups and spending time with family.  Betty Jo was a woman of great faith and lived her life for Christ. When she moved to Batavia, she attended Chapelstreet Church with her family.  Betty Jo with her warm smile and humbleness will be dearly missed by those that knew her and were the benefactors of her heartfelt love and prayers.

Betty Jo is survived by her brother, Eldon Wilson; brother-in-law, Melvin Worthington; sister-in-law, Beverley Wilson; sister-in-law, Lois Garvin; 7 nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Ruth Wilson; brother, Robert Douglas Wilson; sister, Anne Worthington; sister-in-law, Bonnie Wilson; brother-in-law, Richard Garvin and husband, Jim Garvin.
