Adrienne H. Benkert

Visitation for Adrienne H. Benkert (nee Hurley), 85, of Palatine, will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine.  The Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Northbrook, IL.

Adrienne was born on September 29, 1935 in Evanston, IL, the daughter of the late John and Gwendolyn Hurley. She passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.

Adrienne was a homemaker while her children were growing up (and was their greatest advocate and cheerleader!) and also worked in the family construction business alongside her husband until retirement.  She loved to cook, was a voracious reader, and was an avid Chicago sports fan who was excited that she was able to “help” the Cubs win the World Series.

She was the beloved wife of the late Kyle G. Benkert; loving father of Joan (Brent) Mitchell, John (Betty) Benkert, Mark (Christina) Benkert, Helen (Jeffrey) Sobel and David (Beth) Benkert; grandmother of 10; great grandmother of 10; sister of Joan Neely and Kate Crook; preceded in death by her sister Brooke Cogswell.
